They're like the microsoft of gaming; all very popular, and do a lot of what most people want, but even after a few generations of product they still need loads of downtime, make downloads more complicated than it needs to be (while at the same time making it hog all your bandwidth - just the thing to not cooperate with your continued playing while it happens), not really cottoned on to online distribution and payments.

I had a chat with a GM about reporting gold sellers, and was stunned to find that they really need people to tell them - how tricky can it be to spot someone /w'ing or mailing lots of users with similar content, either one character/realm or across a whole account (if the farmers are that clever yet).

Smells like dorf technology to me.
