I had to use main beam lights to drive into work this morning. First time this year I think. Normally I just use side or dipped, cos it's light enough to see by.
I caught a train to Glasgow. First time ever I've been to Glasgow on the train (normally I travel through/from Edinburgh going south).
I went 'surfing' on the Glasgow underground. This is quite good fun. Especially when the train hits a corner rather fast, and you bounce into the partition, and the cute blonde who was stood in the door uses you as a crash pillow. (and yes, this was the first time I've been on the Glasgow underground)
The Glasgow underground smells. I don't know whether this is a feature of tubes or not, but it's not quite as bad as the whiff of the London tubes.
My boss decided that he found some money for training, so he booked two of us on a Windows Active Directory Services training course. Last week before the end of term/Christmas. We're not sure this is a wise thing or not, but we're not complaining (much) cos it means we don't have to deal with abuse from teachers not able to print to the colour printers to to their party invites, Christmas cards or other such non-curricular activities.
Course isn't too bad so far, we start at 10 and finish at 4, so miss all the nasty commuter crush. Shame that by the time I get back it's too late to do any shopping. This is a pain, cos I need a new battery for the 2CV. The one that's in it (probably about 5 years old now) seems to have given up the ghost. Now I could just swap it with the one out of the Mazda, but then that has a habit of not starting first time in the wet, so you need a strong battery to turn the engine over till it dries out enough for it to start. I'll need to get a new horn for it too, cos the Dixieland one has packed up, and it really is a bit OTT.
And in other news, I think I'm finally going to have to plug the oil radiator in, cos its fecking freezing in here today. Both toes and nose are cold :( 16th of December isn't bad though ;)
