Fun weekend. Decided I was too tired to drive down on the Friday night, so I left it till the Saturday morning. Ended up setting off about 20 past 8, stopping off to fill up the car, so in effect it was half 8 by the time I left. Got down to the garage about quarter past 12. Was talking to my sister on the phone and heard an almighty great roar from one of the garage buildings. I guess that will be my car being started up then :)
First impressions:
It is loud, not just engine noise, but wind noise too. Guess this is what you expect from a car that isn't very aerodynamic.
The go pedal is a little stiff. This can be fun when driving in traffic/town cos it feels like it's not moving, then all of a sudden *roar*. This is just down to the way the linkage works on the carbs.
It does not handle as well as my Pug. Note to self, don't try to corner like you were in the pug, it just ain't gonna work.
If you thought it was noisy normally, it's twice as noisy with the roof open...
Creeping up behind people, then pressing the loud pedal and scaring the shit out of them is fun :)
It isn't a car for doing long journeys in - the seats aren't super-comfortable, and after a while, the noise will drive you mad.
It only gets about 165 miles to the tank.
